My life today can be summarized in one sentence. I don have a life. Why is that so? Thanks to my EOS examination 12 weeks away that is. For those who don't know, its my final examinations before i start clinical school and I'm expecting it to be tough. It will be. I have 12 weeks to finish revising 9 systems- Cardiovascular, respiratory, Hematology, Gastrointestinal, Endocrinology, Renal, Reproductive, Muskuloskeletal and Central Nervous System. I also have to practise for Clinical skills examination ow OSCE as we call it.
So what does my day consist of? I wake up between 6.30 and 7.30. Sometimes i only wake up at 8. I fight an upstream battle with my lazy self to wake up and get in the bathroom. I have a quick shower and get dressed for class. My uni has a dress code which requires me to be in formal clothes- slacks, shirt and tie for me every day. I normally leave at 7.45 and drive to my uni 10km away.
While driving, i have my breakfast. One hand driving, the other hand holding food. I know. Its dangerous. I reach uni around 8.10-8.15. Class starts at 8 so I'm almost always late. ( i just cant wake up on time)
1st lecture is a battle with myself from falling asleep. Coffee is the only way i stay awake. I'm getting addicted already. 2nd lecture is a bit better. After lecture at 10.15 I'm off to library. By the time i leave the library its 10.pm and time to go home.
I reach home at 10,30. Bath, have supper, print tomorrows notes and sleep at 12.30. That's the summary of the life of a semester 5/3rd year medical student whose preparing for final exams. To simplify its:
Wake up at 7.30
Drag myself to uni
Struggle to stay awake in lecture
Go library
Go home
Print notes
Sleep
So there you have it. My life as of 20th Feb 2009. =)
ps. i do not study 12 hours of course. i wish i do. i sleep, walk around, walk out awhile, have lunch and dinner, talk to friends etc. I piratically live in the library. My junior called me "Library God" and another named me "Permanent Resident of Library" hahaha
